EcoPoint is a developer, manufacturer and operator of a network of advanced Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) in one. It is a privately held company that was established in 2019. What makes EcoPoint machines stand out is the use of the proprietary AI-driven recognition technology to accept recyclable materials.
At the moment EcoPoint RVMs accept PET-bottles, aluminum cans, glass bottles and jars, wastepaper (cardboard, paper, books, newspapers and magazines) and electronic cigarettes. EcoPoint neural networks can be trained to accept new types of recyclables. Among limitations are visual identity of the item and the overall dimensions of the loading bay, which is big enough to detect a wide range of recyclables. Currently under development is the acceptance of: Tetra Pak, polypropylene (PP) and egg packaging.
Among other benefits of EcoPoint RVMs it is worth mentioning the abilities to:
- integrate with loyalty apps and online payment systems to transfer bonus points or money to users automatically;
- be used as a smart digital signage platform with targeted ad placement;
- accept recyclables in bulk;
- be operated remotely;
- work 24/7 both indoor and outdoor, etc.
